I also find weeding in the garden by hand is very therapeutic.

another year, this one is maybe better.  It hasn't rained for the whole of April in England, so it's a bit weird.  Today I got all excited about the weather (oh, it finally rained  ...

I've been working it with a watering can, it just takes a very long time and biceps.

So now my jasmine is full on out, you can smell it in the front living room
and it's growing 30 or 40 yards away in the back garden.

My Irises are out all popping out big time now.
AND THE PEOaNIES, OH MY PEONIES...  I've got six different ones, I've a yellow tree one and two or three different pink ones, a red one and a fantastic double double extremely smelly white one....   they're maybe my fave (for about 3 weeks)

My morning glory seeds and sunflower seeds are all coming up.
Next year I'm making room for veg.

I wish I could send the smell to you, especially just after the rain.

It's intoxicating, almost narcotic, it's overpowering.

My neighbours across the road have commented.
That's what I love about gardening, you get compliments.

ps:  every other year, the jasmine has bloomed through the summer, in June and July.
This year it's doing it at the beginning of May, it's strange, everything is all coming out all of a sudden, all at once.

The Chelsea Flower Show is on, it's always wonderful in London this time of year.

It's on TV for 2 hours every evening.  Purple is the cool colour again this year.

My garden is lovely too, I've two different white roses (one big smelly one, Iceberg) and a little floribunda one (Little White Pet), out in full bloom, and the jasmine is still full-on.
We had tons of rain and now it's all massive sunshine so it's wonderful.

I've been to the Chelsea show maybe 7 times.  I'm not going this year because last year I won a VIP day.  It was mad, I couldn't find anyone at short notice who could get the day off to come with me so I went alone and gave the 2nd £40 entrance ticket away at the gate.

I got a lovely free lunch, access to the VIP lounge and an introduction to the Gold Medal winning designer, who invited me to hang out with him most of the day, inside his Show Garden.

So after last year, I doubt I'll be able to go to Chelsea again, it would be such a drag to just be there with the general public.

Oh well.  I guess these events are better nowadays on TV, like Wimbledon...

I'm truly amazed that none of you muscely lot do not garden.  It's fantastic for the abs.  And the army bits.

It's great exercise and it smells good.

THANKYOU !!

Beans, Cabbages, Toms...  Love your pix, Thank YOU.

I have by the way figured out how come most people dislike gardening.
(Well, I've always known, it just bugs me to say it...
They just don't like getting dirty and prefer to shop for their veg.

xL

I've no pix of my icckle tom plants.
My roses are fantastic.
Happy June.

Are you growing those Impatiens in your garden or did you just find them on the web?

I haven't gotten around to buying a digicamera yet.

My roses are the best they've ever been ever.  Smells great.  Happy june.
Next I've got to sort out the compost which is a dead funny smell and very dirty.  I'm putting it over there.  It's funny, tomato and squash and cuke and apple babies grow up there.  I'm giving it all away.  Want some?

My morning glory what's the story iponemia is 3' high.

the rhoddies have just finished.
