Question about Bonds and other athletes longevity today...
« on: April 13, 2007, 08:52:49 PM »
I know a fair amount about AAS but not a great deal.  I figured I'd give this question a shot here:

What do you think the cycle Bonds has been on the last few years looks like to allow for his performance to stay so high even as he aged?  Same for Roger Clemens.  That is what set this generation apart from others in baseball.  Before the 90's, a guy was on the downside of his career at 33/34 years old.  Guys have been peaking at 38-39 for the past several years.  The biggest difference the drugs have made is allowing for guys to stay healthy longer and to stay strong up into their late-30's where guys like Mantle fell apart at 35 or so.  Do you think it's just GH/Slin in Bonds case or do you all think he's been running a little more than that?  I had a discussion with a guy about this today who just assumed I know a lot about steriods by looking at me and I was pretty much miffed as to the dosage he probably has been taking, what he's stacked, etc.  I know you all are going to say "no one knows but him" but a lot of you probably have a pretty good idea, as their are some guys on here who've been around the block and back.

Just wondering.  Bonds went deep twice tonight and will probably pass Aaron in early-July.
