Those candidates, along with the millions of other americans that don't believe in evolution = fucking idiots. If they can't see simple facts, then how can they run the world's most powerful country? They shouldn't even be allowed to run for president.
What about the 40 percents of scientists who believe in God? (According to the poll you cited on the Religion board.) I would be willing to bet that there are numerous elected officials (in addition to the Congressman, Senator, and Governor in this story) who don't believe in the monkey business.
There aren't a whole lot of simple facts when it comes to evolution and intelligent design. There are lots of holes, assumptions, science, and faith involved with both theories.
Here are Huckabees comments about evolution:

Huckabee Explains His Views on Evolution Republican presidential candidate Mike Huckabee on Friday sought to explain why he doesn't believe in evolution, saying he is not opposed to teaching Darwin's theory.
Huckabee was one of three GOP candidates who raised their hand during Thursday's debate when asked if they don't believe in evolution - the development of organisms and species from a primitive state.
The other candidates were Sen. Sam Brownback of Kansas and Rep. Tom Tancredo of Colorado.
Huckabee, in a conference call with reporters, complained that the debate format didn't give him a chance to elaborate on his views about evolution.
"And the main thing . . . I'm not sure what in the world that has to do with being president of the United States," said the former Arkansas governor.
Huckabee said he has no problem with teaching evolution as a theory in the public schools and he doesn't expect schools to teach creationism.
He said it was his responsibility to teach his children his beliefs though he could accept that others believe in evolution.
"I believe that there is a God and that he put the process in motion," Huckabee said.
