Valium has been reported to help people in passing polygraph tests.  However, there have been a few studies done that actually show better accuracy while taking such substances.

I've heard that it will usually cause some of the answers to show up as "inconclusive".

Know too that if they suspect you of taking anything, they can always order a drug test.

if you really want to fuck with the test, take some PCP. i  bet that really fucks up the results

I asked our dept polygrapher. He said no. Has to do with base testing.

The trick is to mess up the control questions at the beginning.  After that you can lie all you want and the test will be skewed.

Put a tack in your shoe.  Step on it slightly when your answering the control questions.

ya i read about both those techniques about the control questions and the tack in the shoe.  i would think learning about the control questions and going from there is better then trying to step on a tack...  thanks havenbull!

guy @ work who does lie detector tests says no!
i read once where, you can substitute questions in, like if they ask you, have you ever done drugs in the last 365 days?  if your real answer was yes, quickly, in your mind, you ask yourself a question with a no answer and then say NO.  forget where i read that and not sure if it evenm works but thought i would add it.
what did you do that requires you to lie on a lie detector test?
if its for a civil service job, and i know this from experience, dont lie.  you will be given time to explain answers and lying is an immediate disqualifier.
