it's a muscle relaxer used to treat spasm and muscle pain.  Can alos be used as a temporary sleep aid.

In any event, i hurt like hell and advil etc won't cut it.  I had to take 4 tylenol pm's and 2 beers so that i could sleep.  I still woke up twice.

How about some valium?
Or, My Dr freely hands out Skelaxin, not a bad relaxant, but will leave you vulnerable to muscle pulls for a couple days IMO. Leaves you mushy. Stay the hell away from cyclobenzaprine, nasty hangover.
Valium has such a quality restorative sleep to it. Just don't overdo them...Benzo WD's can even kill. One of few drugs that can.

My doc seem to think that Skelaxin is less harm/ addiction potential than valium. Getting dependant on any benzo family drug like valium(diazapam), lorazapam....etc  IS BAD NEWS.

The cyclobenzaprine works good, but long nasty groggy hang-over for me. But it dont do that to everyone.

If you use Skelax or cyclo.... back down your training lbs  for a couple of workouts. Leaves you open to injury IMO.

All of the above are sleepy. Benzos the most, then cycol.  Skelaxin a guy can work on and stay awake.

Stay away from the narcotics, no matter what anyone says. Leave that shit for the Dr to prescribe.

I've had good permanent results from acupuncture for spasm. Rhomboid area. Twitching nonstop..
Drugs didnot stop it. Acupuncture did in one treatment. But I get zero relief from acupuncture for my low back pain.

yeah i am always careful with any pain meds.  At this point heroin sounds good though.  seriously i'd kick a nun if it meant my back pain would go away.

Hit your doc up? ER if its real bad, they will assume you want narcotics ("Drug Seekers") and make you wait and wait... if you tell them you dont want narcotics, they will prolly GIVE you free "Samples" of some relaxant if you ask. esp if you tell them you have no Insh.

Some of the OTC antihistimines are good sleepers, but there is a point where pain or spasm overrides even morphine and the REAL heavies.

I'd look for a chineese accupuncturist in your area and try some pins and electric current. Look/ ask for electro-accupuncture. Sounds bad? Its  very relaxing for that area. It makes the muscles fire/pulse in the whole area of the pins. I think it increases blood flow lots. It helps some stuff. It's slow and a bit expensive. About a hour, $75-85 in the Mid-west.

Dont let spasm just go on. It can turn reflex, like a hickup after a point IMO.
