Too clever for most at getbig
Whilst getbig is full of imbeciles the points you make are ones long considered redundant and indeed absolutely plausible by most here. I would disagree with you at some levels.
Bodybuilding is not intentionally kept small,
it is small and by that I imply that it is extremely difficult to market. Two reasons. It is boring to the spectator and it is not fake (nor have your best bodybuilders the charisma to pull such ideas off and thus you are without a viable way to "spin" drama into your product ala wrestling).
Absolutely, Weider is sucking bodybuilding for all its worth - but make no mistake Weider could and would have been overthrown by much deeper pockets had there been true potential for bodybuilding as a more mainstream popular spectator "sport". The WBF was a fantastic exposure to the difficulties of selling bodybuilding to the mainstream. At the end of the day it was still boring as shite. Still a guy in a thong standing onstage for too long (as in, too long for a spectator) doing nothing.
I'm not really keen to debate this per se though because all of this, every single little bit of your discussion is an exercise in rehashing the very overdiscussed shortcomings of bodybuilding and nobody here cares anymore.. we literally can't be bothered. Why? Because even the competing athletes can't help themselves.
Few can really truly understand the impossibility of marketing competitive bodybuilding to the spectator - but most can grasp what you're saying.
