Red Hat Society
« on: May 25, 2007, 10:04:15 AM »
Why do I find them creepy?

I get the same feeling when I see them out & about like the same feelings like when I see clowns.  If I go in a restaurant & see them in there....I eat real fast & leave quickly.  Something about it just gives me the spooks.

Women....what the hell is this all about?

Who else is bothered by this?

They are creepy

Thanks....I feel a little better when a woman agrees on this.

I just thought I was the only one that associated them in the same category like clowns.

I probably would have thought so too if my mom had not become one. They are just a bunch of women that get together and have lunch/dinner about once a month (and wear red hats).

They are a bizarre cult

I think anything that gets older ladies out of the house and makes them feel good about themselves is a good thing.  I've seen them in Vegas and they are actually fun to be around, they know how to have a good time.  They aren't harming anybody.

You may wish to reconsider your position in a few years  ;)

It would be one thing if these women were actually attractive. They are just brutal. I just lost my mid morning snack appetite  :-\

Maybe i should look into it more but my mom is a Red Hat (or whatever you call it). All i know is that they meet, chat and do little trips...is that so wrong? Although my mom is happily married to my dad, she joined it with a group of friends and it gives them something to do while retired...other than that i don't know? Is my mom creepy? Does that make me creepy?

I think it's just that when ever adults dress alike and it's not Halloween we think it's weird.

Thought I'd do a little investigating on their website...can't be any weirder than a bunch of greased up, tan men posing in a little bikini with BIG BIG muscles ;)

"The Red Hat Society began as a result of a few women deciding to greet middle age with verve, humor and elan. We believe silliness is the comedy relief of life, and since we are all in it together, we might as well join red-gloved hands and go for the gusto together. Underneath the frivolity, we share a bond of affection, forged by common life experiences and a genuine enthusiasm for wherever life takes us next."

So, i really don't think my mom is weird after all :-*

I'd rather be looking at the greased up, tan men posing in little bikinis with BIG B IG muscles.  ;D

But I do realize the Red Hat Society are what they are and find it nice that they enjoy themselves and what they do.  I do with they didn't wear the red hats and purple outfits though.    :)
