NBA Draft
« on: June 05, 2007, 09:34:58 AM »
Listened to Colin Cowherd this morning talking about Oden vs. Durant.  He said Oden was quicker, faster, stronger, and had a higher vertical than Durant.  Oden's body fat is 7.8 percent.   :o  Durant couldn't do one rep with 185.

No doubt.  Oden keeps it out of the hoop.   :)

If Durant is going to play the 4 in the NBA he has to get a LOT stronger.

He'll have to play the 3 if he can't get one plate off the bench.

A little early to compare Durant to the Ice Man.

YEAH U RIGHT...BUT IM JUST COMPARNG HIS GAME TO SOMEONE OF THE PAST...A SLASHER THAT CAN ALSO SHOOT A DECENT JUMP SHOT...IM NOT GONNA SAY HE IS THE ICEMAN..BUT HE COMPARABLE...

LIK KOBE..TO ME HE IS A CROSS BETWEEN THE OLD AND YOUNG MIKE...IT SEEMS LIKE THE JUMPER IS AUTOMATIC WITH HIM...

HOW DO YOU THINK MY LAKE SHOW WILL DO IN THE DRAFT...I SEE US TRADING THE PICKS FOR A VET AND PICKIN UP SOME FREE AGENTS...

MY POSSIBLE LAKERS FOR NEXT YEAR

JERMAINE ONEAL  80% CHANCE

GARNETT 50%

RON ARTEST 60%

BILLIPS 60%

The rumors I keep reading say we are after O'Neal and Camby, in that order.  I think we're probably going to overpay for O'Neal.  The possible trade I've heard is:

O'Neal for

Odom
Bynum
Lakers no. 1
maybe another filler (Cook, etc.)

That might be too much.  I'd like to see them trade Kwame for Camby or Artest, but neither Denver nor Sac are probably dumb enough to do those.

Bench has nothing to do with basketball, if he is pushing guys he will be on the bench with foul trouble anyway, show me what he can squat, he will be using legs for position
gotta love life

That wasn't Kobe's call.  He liked Caron's game.

ANYONE - except Olowokandi for Kwame would've been a rape.

As worthless as Kwame is, Olowokandi is the biggest bust among 7-footers in NBA history.

Hmm, maybe Mitch will try to get him next.   ::)

Mitch is horrible.  The only saving grace for the Lakers is to fire Kuchak and bring back Jerry West.

I agree that squats (and deadlifts) are better indicators of overall strength, but bench has a lot to do with strength too.  A guy that size who can't get one plate off the bench, once, is about as strong as a woman.
