Jonathan Paplebon/Hideki Okajima appreciation thread

Pap is a beast. Last year he single handedly won game after game for the sox when they where tanking. If not for him coming in shutting teams down they would have lost many more games. Game after game he did it. Batters tremble in fear when the big boy trots out. One notable memory from this year is when Jeter was seen in the dugout shaking his head after getting pwned by a 97 mph fastball on the corner. Pap made the heart of the yankees order look like kids in that series. The next elite closer in the game right here. He wrecks the best lineups in the game.

Then we have man child number 2. Hideki has an era of 0.95 in 35 starts. The guys makes like a million a season!

At the start of this year we knew what Papsmear was, we had no idea about Okey Dokie. He's been absolutely incredible. The steal of the last decade for us. He's been every bit as important and impressive as Paps.

Okajima in the 8th and Papelbon in the 9th, that's one hell of a badass combo.

The funny thing about Okajima is that he's just this skinny little Japanese guy that doesn't throw hard and has a strange habit of looking at the ground when throwing a pitch but he's nearly unhittable.

He's almost looking behind him at the 2nd base or something....as long as they win.

With as much as tito used him last year im glad he is still alive. I am not delusional my friend, the greatest closer of all time is named MO.... I think pap is something very special. To compare him to good ol mo is a compliment to yankees fan's ;)

Although the sox have that mofos number  ;D

He learned his lesson last year. Pap is a on a set routine and I have seen Tito stick to his guns even when we could have used him. Pap is also strength training now. Something that has worked wonders for him. He was not doing anything before.

Okajima gets plenty of work and they get him in to close....They know they will need Pap in the post season. Sox-Rangers tonight.
