Dimebag's Family Slams Bio
« on: June 27, 2007, 03:56:40 AM »
The family of slain guitarist 'Dimebag' Darrell Abbott have blasted a forthcoming biography of the music star. The ex-Pantera rocker was shot dead when an obsessed fan went crazy at the Alrosa Villa nightclub in Columbus, Ohio during a Damageplan show in December 2004.

Music journalist Zac Crain's forthcoming biography Black Tooth Grin: The High Life, Good Times, and Tragic End of 'Dimebag' Darrell Abbott chronicles the guitarist's rise with Pantera.

However, Abbott's family claim they have "not authorized nor cooperated with Crain", reports MTV.com.

In a statement, they add, "Mr. Crain did not know Dimebag personally. Mr. Crain's request to the family was denied. Among other reasons, during his tenure as music editor of the Dallas Observer, Mr. Crain wrote nothing but negative reviews about Pantera's music."

I'm as big a Pantera fan as anybody back in the day but let's be realistic. This dude wasn't a saint. He was a drunk who could play his ass off. Everybody knows Phil was the show before Dime died.

I mean seriously. If Dime was the reason Pantera was what it was why was his new band playing a dive bar where anybody could walk up and shoot the talent?
