Ever gotten a pretty bad infection?

This thread is for stories about, and pictures of infections you've gotten before.

My foot got infected about 6 months back.  I got a small scratch/cut/scrape on it and it had a fair bit of dirt and shit in it too.  I didn't bother to wash it until like 5 hours later when I had a shower.  So the next day it was a little bit red around the outside of it, but I thought nothing of it.  The next day it was really starting to hurt and when I had a shower that night it was agony.  The next day I tried to elevate my foot as much as possible to try and drain any fluids out of it, but when I stood up blood rushed back to my foot and the pain I felt then was second only to calf training.  Another day or so went by and it didn't get any better, so it seemed I couldn't fix it so it was time for a trip to the doctor.

She didn't like the look of it, but the antibiotics cleared it up over the next week or so.

  Can't touch only me but I had my foot and ankle swell up like get rowdy actually even worse from using DMSO and must have passed something through the skin...couldn't hardly walk for 3 or 4 days and definately couldn't put my shoe on.

No, but mine looked exactly liked that after they cut off the blister.  I didn't have a camera and my friend came one day and I had him take a pic of my leg.  I wished I would have took some of it when it looked like that though.  But, it was just like that.

Fucken hell.  So what happened with the whole spider situation?  Did it take ages to heal up?  I've heard things like that do, and it doesn't look like you'd be walking any time soon.

Its 100 times better today.  The first 4 years was a nightmare.  Monthly swellings and high fever and fluid leakage.  Now every few months I get a little fever and it swells up but nothing really bad.  At Christmas last year though I spent two weeks in the hospital cause it swelled up and didn't go down.  My problem has been I haven't been able to train like I used to cause I would get sick and sometimes I can't bend it to much.  SO the inactivity has made me gain allot of weight.  I am losing steadily now and training lightly for now till I get back into it.

Great to hear that you've recovered well.  Man I can't begin to imagine how shit those first 4 years must've been for you.  I guess it would have changed your view on life abit, to see how quickly things can change.  As long as everythings turned out well, then its all sweet.
