Flex Magazine...
« on: July 13, 2007, 07:20:27 AM »
I'm not a big fan of flex but I gotta admit last months issue was pretty good, my wife bought it for me.  The other day I was in Waldens and flipped through the new one with Ronnie Rockell on the cover and it looked pretty good as well.  I don't know what hey did but the pics of the pro shows they covered looked alot better than what I saw on the net..hell branch warren even looked pretty good and Wolf looked insane.

is this an anomoly or is flex actually getting half way decent again?

I love when they describe the weights like "the plates came crashing to the ground like thundering oaks"

you're probably right, I haven't read an article about training or eating from flex in years.  I mostly read the contest coverage or an athlete profile every now and then.

I guess I didn't really get into the overall content of the mag, it just looked alot better to me just flipping through it.

What in your opinion would make a "good" BB magazine?  is it MD, musclemag...ironman, do any of them qualify as a good BB magazine anymore?

lol.....Peter is a good writer though. I'm gonna give him credit on that, My fcuking problem with Flex is they're still telling people to eat Meat & Potatos just like the bodybuilders do and you'll look just like them. At least some of these other mags take a page or two to make aware of the Drug issues which is a big fcuking part of this ''SPORT" we called bodybuilding. Maybe flex readers should start navigate towards another ocean.

on the contrary...look at 5 MD's in a row...issues that were release one after the other...
see how many times you get the same shit articles just re-worded to look like new...

Obesity linked to colon cancer
Weight training reduces risk of prostate cancer
Low Carb Diets Proven most effective for weight loss.
Obesity Linked to Erectile Dysfunction
Low Testosterone Levels linked to Erectile Dysfunction (low sex drive)

ETC ETC ETC

tell me you haven't seen those shit-headlines more than 5-times in the last 12 issues...please man, FLEX is starting to look alot more Credible now cause of that shit. i've lost alot of respect for MD...
*also pissed at the lack of classic B/W photos...not the same without them.

I

I get a year of flex mag for a b-day gift.. i totally agree that everything is recycled. mainly the training and  supps. sometimes its cool to read the new ways that pros have found to  train a muscle or hit an area that they lack. we bodybuilders just look at the pisc. but now that sites are having videos of the pros training, why buy a mag?? with some made up articles
