Swollen ankles- aka Cankles
« on: July 23, 2007, 05:53:26 AM »
Any of you mommys out there get cankles while you were preggers? Wifey and I spent Thursday in the ER when her docter saw her swollen ankles and her BP( at that time). All the docter said was try and take it easy- 8 years of medical school and that was the answer  ???. I guess this happens a lot? Her meaty little feet look like pickled pigs feet  ;D

Try putting her legs in your neck and then doing some rocking motion to release the fluids.

Now only if we could think of a good motion...

Towards the end of my wifes term her ankles swole up very much so...our doc said that their body starts to up the volume of blood and water when it knows that birth is close. Sure enough she went into labor the next week.

All you can do bro is make her comfy...draw her a bath, put her feet up, bust out the lotion and rub her down. Keep her off her feet if you can with simple shit like you doing dishes, vacuuming...things that require long standing periods. It sucks but honestly to this day she still talks about how I stepped up when she needed me. Plus it's nice to have something to throw in her face when she spouts the "you don't ever take care of me.." when in her PMS rage. ;D

Hang tough bro...when your child is staring you in the face, you'll know it was worth it.

Thanks gang! Wifeys feet thank you too! I usually have her sit on the couch with her feet propped up so I can rub them since she still works at an office 4 days a week. Her cute little size 6.5 shoes now barely fit in size 8's  ;D Irish, ive been trying to do all the domestics around the house, cooking , cleaning, laundry, food shopping but she still insists on trying to get everying perfect before the bambino gets here!
