Toney Freeman...the Olympia Fallout?
« on: October 01, 2007, 10:01:43 AM »
Toney was getting a TON of hype going into this show and any way you look at it he blew it bigtime.  I like Toney's physique and this isn't personal but how does this showing effect his career?  Lee Priest came in really bad a few years ago and he recovered but he's alot younger than Toney and had been around alot longer.  Toney's been a pro for awhile but only started coming into his own a couple of years ago.  IMO Toney needs to win the Ironman again and place top 3 at the arnold to get back on track.

Discuss.

Agreed, I respect that Tony admitted he was off, and  he was a dissapointment but he can recover, like you said win a bigger show like the ironman and a pro show leading up to next year and he's right back in the mix, he's too superior genetically not to be in the mix if he's on.  Al, what did you think of Dave Henry's showing?

Dave's pretty f'n good.  Back is one of the best in the sport right now, entire upperbody is phenominal.  Abs, when he crunches down are great.  Legs have come up alot, even showed improvement in the calf's which is good.  The issue I have with Dave is I wish he'd get someone to show him how to hit some of his poses the right way, his front lat spread is terrible and his side chest isn't what it should be.  He's so good but if you can't present it you're hurting yourself in the log run.

I think him and Rockel are the best short guys around right now....

yeah, I think Henry looked awesome, it's kind of like Arnold said, "little" guys tend to scruch up when they pose.I noticed it too  I never understood why so many guys put so much into drugs, diet, cardio etc.., but lose a place because they can't pose or their colors off.
