9 innings , 4 hits , ZERO runs, no walks. Its only game one but that was a Cy Young if I ever saw one. Congrats to the only 20 game winner in the MLB.

Still a bunch of games to play , but tonight was a nice win.

Beckett pitched a great game, he's one of those guys like Schilling, Rivera, Clemens etc.. Who loves the big stage, he dominated, I think he retired 18 straight or something, you're right still a long way to go.  It was nice to see Ortiz, Youk and Manny swing the bat well, i think they're all about as healthy as you can be this time of year.

thank god Beckett has turned into a top 3 pitcher in the AL, I couln't live with that trade if beckett was going 12-14 and Hanley was winning the mvp, Lowell wasn't a bad toss in either

Povano? Not me. Drew sucks this year, true. But his infant son is also very sick. That has to effect a person in some way ya know? Hard to worry abour basebaball when your son is in a cast from the chest down. Look at Becket his first year here. Some guys tend to take a year to get used to the pressure and scrutiny in the most rabid baseball market in the us. Jd's hit was a key to that win last night. That and Manny hitting that bomb in the ninth!!!! Hopefully they can close this thing out next game.

That said, if he struggles next wellllllllllllllllllllll lllll

There no way Manny Delcerman hit Vlad on purpose in a tie game in the 8th. I hope they do something. The better they are down 2 - 0. As we saw in 04 that don't mean much tho
