Ron Paul made 5 mil in last quater- almost as much as McCain

People are starting to notice him.  Funny.  Military people love him.  And even tho the polls all ignore him, it appears that a lot of people have suddenly heard of him.

One note - if you're a republican, and you don't like the war, he's the only option for you.  Anyone know what % of Repubs don't support the war?  Since we know the country is very close to 50/50 for the last decade (dem/repub), and 65%+ of americans don't like the war...

that means at LEAST 30% of those 55 mil republicans don't like this war.  Hmmmmm

Just to put this in perspective, here is what the leading Republican candidates raised in the third quarter:

Rudy:  $11 million
Romney:  $10 million
Thompson:  $9.3 million
McCain:  $6 million

Yeah, I remember when he was at 2.something million last time.  That's a hell of a jump.  If he jumps that same % higher in this Q, he'll be at almost 11 million - tied with rudy!

The fact that much of the money came from military donations... to me that is HUGE. 

And when you step back, and realize that without much tv talk, without being a known name - Paul STILL earned half as much as RUdy.  I mean, Rudy is talked about every day, on every channel.  He was a Time Man of the Year.  He is "Mr 911" and the definite favorite of Repubs.  And he only got 11 mil. compared to Pauls' 5 million.


Also - along with that money jump - Paul was talked about on almost every show today on cnn, fox, and msnbc.  He definitely has momentum.  It the trend continues, who knows...
