The Privileged Planet (DVD)
« on: October 08, 2007, 06:05:02 AM »
A must see.  I totally recommend it to atheists and believers alike.

Our planet is exquisitely fit not only to support life, but also to give us the best view of the universe, as if Earth were designed both for life and for scientific discovery.

Any hidden motivations? I've read the book and one of the authors is a theologist with an angle. There is no design and no purpose in the universe, deal with it.
I hate the State.

This film was made by the Discovery Institute, a Christian organization that promotes "intelligent design."

Sometimes they try to hide their Christianist agenda, but it is easy to see through them.

One of their main figures is Michael Behe, of Dover trial shame, the man disowned even by his own faculty colleagues at Lehigh.

i dont understand who would want the film to be by in support of design?

i mean, books written by theologians are for god, and books by atheists are against. theres always a slant or "angle", they are just trying to support there opinion.

if you want something a little better on the point of mediocrity, read GODS UNIVERSE by gingerich, surely you respect him.
