Some British bias may occur in these answers...
1. Where do you stand on labor unions?
I agree with unions to some extent. Some services in the public sector however are critical to society and must be unionised very careful not to permit atrocities occurring. As far as I see it, when someone signs up for the fire/police service they are nominating themselves knowingly that the job is critical for the operation of society.
My father as been a union man all of his life, and I believe the common worker should have protection for his position from the greed of others.
2. Where do you stand on Free Trade?
I verily support free trade. The world is going global, nobody should suffer unfairly with bias taxes etc.
3. Where do you stand on Privatization?
Britain has seen a lot of privatisation. At first the decision is questionable but now the market is mature and stable. Some things I believe shouldn't be privatised and are core to the smooth running of the government.
4. Where do you stand on Deregulation?
Deregulation increases competition, efficiency and output, what can I be against here other than poor execution of deregulation? This is critical. Competition is good not only for the business ecosystem, but you and me, the consumer.
5. Where do you stand on Privacy including having 8 government video cameras locked on your buttocks at any given moment in time?
A disgrace, and I say this being a subject of Britain, one of; if not THE most monitored populaces in the world.
The way I see it is that it is a issue of poor immigration, thus it is an attempt at a cure of the immigration scandal in Britain. Prevention is better than cure; the British immigration services should have done there job. The continued monitoring of British subjects is also expensive, so why not prevent further requirement of me losing my liberty and freedom by investing in a more comprehensive and efficient immigration system?
6. How about abortion?
I believe it should be allowed thru principle. However I'm disgusted at abortion being used as a form of contraception.
7. Are you happy with the current state of capitalism?
No, but it's too deep for me to answer here.
8. What are your thoughts on socialism?
Not the biggest supporter of socialism. At least not EU socialism. Maybe it's the mix of EU socialism + EU bureaucracy the equals the mess we're in with the welfare state? I don't know, and I don't think it's something that should be experimented with anytime soon in the USA other than a socialistic health care system. 40 mil+ people without health insurance is a disgrace in this day and age for a country like the US.
One day I expect Americans to be thinking something like "I don't know what we was smoking before..."
Of course the national health service in Britain has been severely abused (another immigration issue.)
9. Who are your top 3 favorite political writers or speakers?
I'd have to think about this.
