No, its not celebrated here, however, I am acquainted with the culture of the United Kingdom.  In fact, most Britons seem to take a liking to me naturally.  It must be genetic, because when dad was being "overpaid", he said he got on better with the locals than with the other guys in his outfit.

Most of the time yes, but currently I'm in Manchester and don't get back til January. I've never come across it before state side. Curious as to why Al-Gebra posted it (he's americano right? ???)

Funnily, no-one I know in Manchester really celebrates it.

In fact, I have a video outfit that will play UK video tapes and dvds.  I watched "Trouble in Store" on Turner Classic Movies last week, and played "Brothers in Law" for a lawyer friend yesterday.  Interesting artifact on UK videos of cinema films, because of the frame rates, mains frequency, and all the rest, films have to be played 4% fast on UK television.
