Giving Peter Putnam the win despite an amateur back would have hurt the Nationals credibility beyond repair.  Giving the title to a superior Dixon was a good move, for keeping the fans' support.

Putnam has the most presentation and polish, and great quad cuts.  He'll likely win it next year at nationals if he can do something about back width.  Whatever cutler did from 04 to 06 to grow past his genetic limits for width, putnam should do that.

I'm thinking there are different people running Nationals than the USA's.  Both Alex A and Putnam were completely denied at Nationals this year after everyone's thinking the Nationals were gonna be a "USA Part II."  I know what happened to Alex's tan, but with Putnam, had that been the USA judging panel, they surely would have given it to him based on his improvements.  It leads me to think that Nationals was trying to redeem itself somehow; show that it has it's own mind or something.  I wonder if Putnam is pissed or confused now.  Yes Dixon's the better bodybuilder than Putnam but I thought for sure Putnam had this thing in the bag based on everything we've seen up until now; he must have as well.

I agree the Nationals definitely made a ressurection with this years choices.  Charles Dixon is a true bodybuilder (MUSCLE AND CONDITIONING).  Putman needs  more muscle (especially back) and so does Alex.  Alex is a shorter guy like Dixon and needs to start packing on some "conditioned MUSCLE".  I don't care about his tan.  If he was thick as a brick with that conditioning he would have been IN, but when you're relying on superior conditioning because you can't out muscle other opponents prepare to lose alot of battles on the higher, superior levels like the NPC Nationals.  An IFBB Pro Card is given out to every class winner.  That is what every competitive bodybuilder dreams of.  You better bring more than some striated glutes.  In any case, God Bless us all!!! for participating in this crazy sport called "bodybuilding".  Congratulations to all the class winners and I look forward to seeing them all participate in at least one IFBB competition.
