"America's favorite "Doritos Girl" will be back on the field this Super Bowl Sunday in a new commercial for the Doritos brand. The snack company will premiere the 30-second spot during the second quarter of Super Bowl XXXV, which will air on CBS-TV on January 28.
In the spot, Ali Landry delivers a knock-out performance on a tennis court as a young man tries to impress her with his athletic prowess. Unimpressed, Ali Landry ups the ante by pouring Doritos chips, now with more Nacho Cheese, into the automatic tennis ball machine and the action begins. In the end, the Doritos Girl is literally floored.
In 1998, Super Bowl fans "flipped" over the Doritos Girl's high-flying, in-your-mouth gymnastics in the Doritos 3Ds "Laundromat" spot, voting it one of the best commercials that year. Relating to the success of her "commercial" premiere, Ali Landry was voted one of the year's "50 Most Beautiful People" by People magazine.
In 1999, the Doritos Girl returned for her second Super Bowl appearance in "Library," which put truth to the adage, "where there's smoke, there's fire." Ali Landry set hearts aflame as a college coed strolling through the campus library, eating Doritos chips. It seems Ali and the taste of Doritos are so red-hot that the library's fire alarm and sprinklers are set off."
