Moss and domestic violence charge
« on: January 16, 2008, 03:20:09 PM »
Apparently a women in Florida asked for a restraining against Moss for an incident 10 days ago. Moss held a news conference and stated that he was being extorted for a 6 figure settlement and this came to light only after he refused. He told the Pats as soon as it happened, several days ago. He was pretty forthcoming with the media and answed all their questions. Restraining orders are a dime a dozen...several Boston media who where there with Moss seem to believ him. I don' think it will be a distraction nor do I belive the charges at this point. Nor do I care but this will be big news. There are alot of weird things about the story. The Fla station that posted it on their site pulled it after several hours, reposted and then pulled it again. No criminal charges appear to be forthcoming....and the woman, nor her lawyer have said anything. Maybe Body will have more.....its being carried by everybody. Honestly I want the guy to catch Tom Brady TD's...I don't care if they catch him eating baby harp seals...GO Pats...

I don't think this has any validity to it. IMO there are so many vets on the team and there so focused on SD, even if it was a distraction those guys wouldn't allow it. Sounds like some gold digger trying to score easy cash.

If this claim turns out to be true Moss is a fool. He has been nothing but a great guy since he started playing in NE. Honestly I know he has a track record of incidents in the past , but seeing the guy up close I can say I am pretty impressed with him. I guess he would be the perfect target for something like this.

This type of extortion seems  common with pro players. Since the duke crap you cant believe anything these victims say until it is proven without a doubt.

All you need to do is claim something happens and a player might pay you off to aviod the media beat down!

I knew he wouldn't be the "good guy" all year

some people don't know how to avoid trouble

I like how he said he never hit a woman

didn't he hit a woman with HIS CAR?

And if it turns out to be like the duke case and this woman is lying to extort money will you take what you said back? Doubt it.

I hope it does turn out to be nothing.  But you can't deny Moss's character problems over his career.

Turns out the girl is saying moss never hit her and her finger was injured in the accident. Oh brother is all I have to say to this one! I would never deny Moss's issues. I was a critic of him before he got here. Since he got here he has been awesome. Just calling it like I have seen it.

Some quotes:

"He was in her home, had dinner, watched a playoff game, there was some horseplay that took place, consensual horseplay. In the course of that, she got her finger hurt. She's never even claimed that he hit her.

...

"He left the home within 45 minutes to an hour after this happened. He helped her put ice on her finger."

I don't recall any legal issues recently. The latest reports on this issue have the woman who called out moss claiming to have an injured finger , and also now saying Moss never hit her. My point was if Moss is being extorted for money will you take your original comments back? Seems like you are saying he is guilty before any of the facts come out. A lot of people are not happy with the great seasons Moss has had , and are just waiting to rip him for anything. Since he has been in NE he has been a great teammate and has also done the most charity work with kids of all the players.

I would think a steelers fan would understand. With many former players getting into legal issues , and there own qb stopping a moving car with his face when his whole team depends on him to do well during the season would lead me to believe you would understand some people make mistakes.

Imo Moss is the perfect target for something like this. Look at the reaction you and many others had before the facts started coming out. People know Moss might pay good money to keep himself from the media onslaught and public lynching that would occur on words alone.

All I am saying is let the facts come out before you claims he is guilty of anything. So far the facts look shady at best on the "victims" part. A injured finger that just so happens to occur right before the biggest game in Moss's life?

I was a critic of the guy before he came here. This year he has been a great teamate , and also great with the public and media. Not to mention his monster season on the field. These claims are pretty wild from any view point. Think about it , demanding six figures over a injured finger?

I can't stand Moss, but this sounds like a woman trying to win the lottery.   :-\

Name 'Rachelle Washington' means she's most likely Black.

Is there any reason why Randy chooses not to hire any Black attorneys?

I never said he was guilty

I just pointed out that he always seems to find trouble

jerome bettis was accused of rape back in 02 and it was a shock

this thing with moss isn't surprising at all because like i said he always finds trouble, if not on the field then off
