I'm not getting into this but if u CT guys really wwant to go nuts. How about prior to the Iraqi invasion of Kuwait when we to Saddam that we had no intrest in his claim on the Kuwaiti oil fields and to deal with it as he saw fit. A year or so later and his army is in ruins with US troops 100 miles from Bagdad.

60 minutes did a story on this that was buried but it can still be pulled up on youtube.

It has documents which show which companies would be used to rebuild in Iraq and other contracts being handed out to companies long before the invasion of Iraq even started.

You made some quotes that "We invaded for WMD, we had no plans for oil at that time" which I thought about digging up to show you're wrong, but I didn't want to do that to you.

It's very obvious now that we were planning to invade iraq, and 911 was pretty darn convenient for getting our troops to the region.

Your own admission that "oil was only PART of the reason we invaded" shows that you personally support the slaughter of thousands for their oil.  If I rob a house but mop the floor before leaving, I'm still a burglar, no matter what other nice deeds I did while there.

I understand we need their oil.  If they're not going to give us the contracts, we're going to take it.  It's the way of the world.  I understand it, and I'm glad cheney and crew have the balls to do it, as I sure wouldn't.

But...

I dislike liars.  I dislike people who claim it's "conspiracy nonsense" to believe the war was all about oil.  I got trashed on here for 2 years because I said 911 needs another investigation, the war was about oil, and the insurgency is very good for war business and this war will be dragged out.  I've been proven right on all 3 in the last 2 years.

I hate being lied to.  I'd have rather been told "look, this is what'll happen if we don't..."

Cheney/Bush will probably be remembered (20 to 50 to 500 years from now) as great men.  Seriously.  Started the wars to secure oil and put down arab growth.  history is written by the winners.
