Fox news' take on barrack obama
« on: February 24, 2008, 06:46:20 AM »
Im' watching Chris Wallace's show this week, with guest host Brit Hume.

I just heard all 3 guests use the sentence "Barrack Obama will be a disaster for the US" within 3 minutes.

Now I can understand having on several people with differing points of view.  One guest says he'll be a disaster, another guest says he'll be good, and they both share evidence to prove their points.

Not here.  You had 3 guests bashing Obama.  Period.  This is disappointing, as the viewer doesn't have a chance to reach his own conclusions, the goal of pundit shows.  Well, that's usually the goal.  if I didn't know any better, I'd think the goal of this sunday's show was to simply make obama look bad, and continue to drive home the point that obama = bad.  I didn't know the RNC had their own channel.

next we have "neutral" host Brit Hume talking about how the NY Times had "flimsy" evidence against mcCain.

And, all 3 guests bash the NY Times.  Not one of them defending the paper, as is pretty standard with cable news shows (trust me, I watch them all day, you always have both angle, no matter how silly an opposing view is).

In addition to the 3 guests bashing the NYTimes, we see hannity and others chiming in from their weekly quotes.  This is a completely one-sided opinion piece.

yes and no.
i thought they'd at the very least have an opposing point of view.

They used to.  It's sad to see them doing nothing but one-sided propaganda.  MSNBC and CNN might be "liberal garbage", but they have on 2 guests every time, with equal time for each side to make their point.  There is never a conclusion reached, and they certainly do not report their opinoins as fact.

I watch CNN, MSNBC, and FOX each day.  It's nice to see how each reports differently on the same topics.  Even some silly things, like the looped file footage they show... Obama is always showed darker on FOX, and hilary is always shown in unflattering light.

It's FOX. Remember? Biggest pile of steaming televised shit ever conceived? How does it surprise you? And, by the way, the other channels you mention are as partisan as FOX, they just do it in a different manner.

I don't know...

MSNBC was SO pro-war when we took iraq.

Only when WMD fairy tale unraveled did they change positions.

And to this day, even when it's something as ludacris as "should we bomb Iran immediately", they still let some right-wing nut come on and they do give him equal time to make his case.

There was no one making the case today for an opposing viewpoint.  I feigned shock at this, in the hopes that one of our resident FOX fans would come on and declare fox to be fair and balanced, and somehow explain how you can be fair and balanced by only showing 1 side of a debate.

Maybe because the NYT times had bs information. I watched MSNBC w/ Oberman. He had a chick from Air America on...it was a bash Mccain love fest after the story.Nobody once mentioned that the story was void of facts.

She will be on the ticket.  She's so close in the delegate count, and if FL and MICH count, she's right up there.

She'll be the VP who runs shit, while Obama will be the positive face out there shaking hands and gazing lovinly into every spotlight he sees.

Name one mass media, news network/program that isn't pundit tv?

And people take their word as gospil and fact rather than opinion.  ::)

Barrack could use a Joseph Lieberman to balance up his noobie image.

Lieberman is enough of old smelly man for that shit.

And pro-Israel.
