You should see this guy at my gym....another clueless fuck. I feel bad for the people who get him, cause he's fucking retarded. Example, he'll have an old lady doing too much weight when it is obvious she can't handle it.  just a few days ago, he had this guy off the street, doing front squats on a ball...... ???

Also, this "core" bullshit is out of hand. I do believe that there are some benefits to those balls, when used properly, but the shit some of these assholes (who can't even get/keep themselves in shape) come up with is ridiculous.
HAHA, RON.....

I have a client who still thinks she can;t lift the weight I give to her, it is all mind over matter.
As long as the dumbbells are hexagonal, she is fine.  If she sees the same weight on a traditional dbell, she thinks she can't lift it.

She did a exercise video at home(cardio) and threw her whole right side out of whack.
I had to incorporate a whole session of balance and one flexibility to get her back on track.
Now we do at least 15 minutes of balance and flexibility a few times a week.

The trainer obviously has a background in sports conditioning.  Medicine ball training is used by a number of professional sports trainers.  Holding the ball by its tips helps out the person in developing core strength as he has to stabilize himself to keep from having the ball fall from his hands

Your a tool and everyone knows (by the way you are built) you do not know a thing about this or any subject relating to bodybuilding...Thanks for playing though...

I'll put heavy deadlifts, front squats, squats...against any core exercise fanatic...and guess what, I'll win. ;)  Shit is a nice gimmick for trainers to keep their clients.  Some trainers will use exercises which require 2 people, this way the client will feel they "need" them, to do an efficient routine.  It's garbage.
Agreed!
Squat and deadlift.  If that doesn't develop your "coe", nothing will.

It comes down to 2 things:

1.  Trainers can attract more new (read: ignorant) clientele it they're doing something nobody else is.  They look like they have knowledge that the 'average person' doesn't have.

2.  Fatties that are too lazy to squat and deadlift or any of the many variations.

Are you saying that fat people automatically know how to properly squat and deadlift?

No.  I am saying that a responsible will teach his or her client to do these basic exercises that have worked wonders for 'core strength' for the century before bouncy balls made their way into the gym.

Actually, I thought on this a little further, adn unless fat people poop standing up, yes, they do know how to squat.

Strange, Ronnie Coleman doesn't seem to do any "core specific" training (balancing of goofy balls while squatting, fucking around with kettle balls, etc) yet he managed to built a "decent" physique at one time. :-X

You cannot compare an non-athlete who does his exercises on a saggital plain only to someone who has strenght in all plains. An athlete might not be able to deadlift 800lbs (no reason to do so) but I guaranty Ronnie cannot do half the things and athlete can do when it comes to core strength

Core exercises = People who don't want to lift heavy weight
I'll put heavy deadlifts, front squats, squats...against any core exercise fanatic...and guess what, I'll win. ;)

Read my above statement.....I'll take that bet any day of the week, and I promise I'll win.

Shit is a nice gimmick for trainers to keep their clients.  Some trainers will use exercises which require 2 people, this way the client will feel they "need" them, to do an efficient routine.  It's garbage.
With no training partner or core ball exercises, I've managed to somehow "beat the odds" and make decent gains..haha  Who comes up with these bullshit things?  Yes, of course, you will hit a few more stabalizing muscles by using a bouncy ball, but you will also lift far more, without that shit.  I'll take the extra 100lbs on a squat over a fancy core ball Barnum Bailey balancing act any day. ;)

Your talking in bodybuilding terms, again, any decent trainer will not just do bodybuilding isolation type of training.

Yes poor Ronnie he will never measure up to these true athletes who can play twinkle toes and move around in a funny position with a 5lb ball.

Actually......he can't. Just in the same way a REAL athletes can't measure up to Ronnie when it comes to BBing, saying that, an athlete has a better chance at being a BBer than Ronnie has being an athlete. Does this clarify things a little?

Can you list those things that a man should be able to do, in order to be considered an 'athete' when it comes to core strength?

You're determined that Ronnie does not qualify, so it's obvious you have a rubric/checklist for defining who is, and who is not.  Please share.

the Coach is getting a little defensive, because for the most part, trainers don't really do anything for their clients other then rip them off.

Most trainers have their obese clients doing situps, when they should be giving them nutritional advice.  ::) Most of them are dumbasses.

Of course I'm not taking into account the select trainers who really know their shit. But those guys are 1 out of a million, and even though they exist, they're really worthless because people don't really need personal training.
