i hope you notice this trend. i was sorta pissed to know that not only did they down size the total of ounces in my can of salmon but they also drastically reduced the fat content, but higher prices. this downsizing has happend 3 times this year
Many companies are doing this, and the government has nothing to do with it really. Gas prices, most likely the government has some involvement, but not a can of tuna.
My company, 4 years ago, had to reduce the size of the container because they felt they couldn't get enough profit if they did not, as well as if they raised the price people would scream and yell. They know they're facing adversity in the future no matter what they do.
This year, the company felt they were forced to raise the price of the product, and in the coming months they'll are going to reduce the size of the container-keeping the same price from the increase.
Every year, the price of gas, raw materials etc....goes up. And companies are in business to make money. The government has zero to do with it.
