Obama Would "Immediately Review" Potential Of Crimes In Bush White House

Attytood   |   April 15, 2008 12:05 AM

Attytood's Will Bunch has a new interview with Barack Obama:

Tonight I had an opportunity to ask Barack Obama a question that is on the minds of many Americans, yet rarely rises to the surface in the great ruckus of the 2008 presidential race -- and that is whether an Obama administration would seek to prosecute officials of a former Bush administration on the revelations that they greenlighted torture, or for other potential crimes that took place in the White House.

Obama said that as president he would indeed ask his new Attorney General and his deputies to "immediately review the information that's already there" and determine if an inquiry is warranted -- but he also tread carefully on the issue, in line with his reputation for seeking to bridge the partisan divide. He worried that such a probe could be spun as "a partisan witch hunt." However, he said that equation changes if there was willful criminality, because "nobody is above the law."

I don't think he will.

I'd expect the Republicans to close ranks and Obama would never get anything accomplished.

I'm not sure why the eye roll, Republicans would not hesitate for a second and would fully follow through to the end where dems seem to always chicken out and act like they're mending fences ::)

Find me a story about Lawrence Walsh, Ken Starr, etc. and I'll give those a  ::) too.  These partisan witch hunts are a waste of my tax dollars.

Hahaha, ...watch someone invoke that power to declare Obama an unlawful enemy combatant and jail him indefinitely without charge or trial.

  • "What you don't have is a career."

NO NO NO, Obama - get off the rhetoric train, man.

If Obama wins the Presidency, his only concern needs to be working to right the ship.  The wrongs that have been committed by Bush and his thug cronies cannot be corrected.  He should know by now that White people - especially those in power - get away with criminal acts every day in this country.

History will tell the story of what Bush and his people have done to America.

It's all about the Revolution, baby...
