more chests?

Gunther and Arnold are the ONLY guys hitting the shot properly...all the guys today do that, "Side, side-chest pose"....where they nearly turn their entire body to the front....NOT A REAL SIDE CHEST.

Yes...James is immense.

But his side chest is NOT a side chest...it is a 'side upper body shot'...

If any of youy have seen the outtakes from Pumping Iron where A and Franco and the guys are posing in front of the mirror...Franco hist the side chest as A asks him too...and his chest disappears...

"Ahhhhh," exclaims Arnold. "You see Franco, things change when youy do it right. If You Don't Have It, Don't Hit It..."

This may explain why we never see any poses of Arnold that are not chest-centric. A serious lack of ab and thigh pictures, right along with front and rear lat spreads, a side triceps, or a back double biceps. Every picture of Arnold is either a side chest, a front double biceps, or that ironage pose that resembles a side chest with both arms extended.

I will kind of agree.

Its no secret that we all prefer certain photos to other poses that do not accentuate are strong points.

My chest is weak, so I will always do a varyation of the standard side-chest...one that will help my arms bunch up and bolster my chest...

Rare are pics of A's back lat spread (probably his weakest pose...almost has an average back lat spread) and the side tricep. His tris were good, but severely overshadowed by his bis.

The fact that his shoulders sloped and his triceps lacked, along with a rather small back, likely explain why his chest seemed so gigantic. Arnold competed at around 235 standing 6'2", yet in pictures by himself he seems as though he isn't much smaller than a 300 pound Gunter Schlierkamp or a 250 pound Chris Cormier. Either Arnold was inflated with air, or those pictures aren't telling the whole story.

Well, his "Top Form Measurements" from Education of a Bodybuilder (with Douglass Kent hall, who just dies, like , last week)..included weight: 227 pounds.

So 235-240 may have never been.

its widely accpeted that arnold was all chest/bi's...    it takes dramatic lighting and special effects to ame any of his other muscles appear more than average

i'd be willing to put down money that if arnold was ever placed on a modern stage with the kind of blaring lighting they have to deal with he'd look like he weighed 185 pounds soft. everyone looks awesome with that kind of absurd shadowing and black and white.

the funny thing is people rip on kamali for his "kitchen photos", but that's all EVERY picture of arnold is. it was the 1970s, why is it almost EVERY picture of arnold is black and white? i'm pretty sure color photography popped up way before then.

there's a good challenge: find me a picture of arnold that is not from a weird angle, absurdly lit, and black and white.

he was 7 time Mr O and obviously a legend of bodybuilding and all that, but the way people talk you'd think a better physique had never existed. the only reason people say that is because he turned into a hollywood star and "the face" of bodybuilding. no one in their right mind would ever objectively say that, if arnold was just some dude that won his olympias and then vanished a la haney or sergio, the hero worship would not exist.

Weird angle is subjective. For someone who wants to bash Arnold, a simple twist of the arms could be considered a weird angle. You forget that bbing is about accentuating your strong points and hiding your flaws. Arnold was a master of that. You've been corrupted by the bbers of today, who simply don't do this, showing every flaw available. Black and white, color - it makes no difference. The physique is still the same.
