God is the ultimate meaning. If there is no meaning the is no God. Everyone is in the search of meaning.

The purpose in life is to become God-like to work towards perfection no matter how imperfect you are.


I don't think he's a nihilist.  Just b/c someone denies a purpose to life in the teleological sense doesn't mean that some meaning cannot be found/discovered or manufactured.
