Who's next for Forrest?
« on: July 06, 2008, 02:09:02 PM »
I really hope its Wand.

Chuck will be busy with Rashad in Sept and Machida can't fill the seats.  So that leaves Wand, he did KO Jardine, the last man to beat Forrest.

I'm going with Wanderlei. I think they are going to square off Machida and Thiago Silva against each other personally. They don't really like to keep more than one guy around at a time who is undfeated it seems like.

After the Forrest fight, you can here Joe Roegan saying that a Wanderlei vs Rampage fight would be awesome.

How about these fight matchups to really get things stirred up:

W. Silva vs A. Silva

Machida vs Franklin

Jardine vs Shogun

Forrest / Silva would be something else , esp. since Silva helped Forrest train for Rampage and they're both @ Xtreme Couture... either way Wand will absolutely murder Griffin, his killer instinct is second to none!

How many times are people going to say things like this about Forrest? He beat perhaps the top 2 light heavies in the world in the past year! And people still say, "Wand would murder Griffin."

I know right?  How many people does he have to go through to prove himself...you forgot about Tito's bitch ass, but then again it was a fluke decision and Tito doesn't really count... ;D

Heh, I love Griffin! he's fun to watch, but Griffin himself made it sound like he's afraid of Wanderlei, he praises him and says he's in his own world, he's an animal, I'm going to try and find the interview  where he's talking about silva...

Now, that would be a serious slug fest, or at least until Forrest got knocked the F out...I give Forest his props, but bad match up for him.

Forest has the reach advantage and if he has a solid gameplan to counter Silva's style he has a very good chance of winning

Chuck is done. He's had one punch and now it's gone. Time for him to hang'em up.

Forrest is one hell of a warrior.

He's a nasty bleeder, though. All that scar tissue around his eyes makes for all of his fights to be a bloody mess. Those cuts above his eyes against Rampage were really opened up. It could present a real problem in some future fights.

I doubt that - Chuck's  still got it - too many victories caused him to get lax and rely on the big punch finish.
Once he regains his focus he'll dominating again.

I would like to see Chuck wear the belt once again. I'm sure he definitely has what it takes to be champion again.

Too old and parties too much. He doesn't have the desire to be champ anymore. He's still a huge draw and remains popular but he's showing up strictly for the paydays these days.

I heard that he did party a lot, but I had no idea that he did not have any interest in being champ. I'm sure though he would still give Forrest a run for his money. I also just read that old 'page is out due to leg injury for a while now: off subject. You know he's hungry for his belt once again.

You know Dana wants a Forrest/Lidell fight more than anyone.  It will happen.
