Why all the new federations in the last 2 years?
« on: July 10, 2008, 09:38:41 AM »
The WBF fails in 1992 and you have nothing for 14 years.  Suddenly you have 5 organizations (asia, titus, dillet, PDI, B&A) popping up in the last 2 years.

PDI was able to lure a few IFBB pros... the B&A was able to lure teams of Euro guys.
If Wayne hadn't gotten cancer, year 2 of the PDI would have delivered 6 shows (venues were booked, promoters in Euro had their ball rolling)

What is causing all of these new federation attempts to arrive recently?  better communication/info sharing via the boards?  Are athletes unhappy?

What does the future hold?  Will this magazine rift eventually lead to two giant super-federations (MD vs AMI?) if we see a few more 2007 Olympia results?

Will one of these upstart federations get the forumula right in the future?  Most would agree that no monopoly can last forever in the face of new technology and more info awareness.

I think your post about sums up every issue, and you've probably accurately answered your own question(s).

Speculation, but reasonable.
