Olympic Weightlifting and banned substances
« on: July 25, 2008, 11:47:49 AM »
What % of medal winners in the mens weightlifting at this years Olympics do you guys think have at some time in their lives knowingly and deliberately used a substance that is banned under Olympic rules?

My guess would be 85% (primarily Winstrol, testosterone, GH, and/or diuretics).

Let us know your thoughts.

And secondly, how many medal winners in the mens weightlifting at this years Olympics do you think will test positive for a banned substance.

My guess is 5%

100%. You don't get to the elite levels of the strength sports without pervasive drug use.

I don't know, but I've got a feeling most countries are only sending members that stand a good chance of beating the test(s). Bulgaria has pulled their whole team due to drug use. Greece is only sending 4 people, as most of that team got caught. Iran pulled Hossein, claiming he wasn't ready to compete:). Lots of others are absent.
