You are correct, but my point is that it would take Fedor all of one fight to build a following in the UFC, not counting all the fans that already know who he is and would kill to see him fight there. And after cleaning out the division he would have a very legitimate army of fans.
Anderson Silva generated huge interest after only his first fight against Leben, and was a bonafide superstar after the win over Franklin, and he was about as unknown as you can get with today's fanbase. Now he is the poster boy of the federation.
How long do you think it would take Fedor, who is already pretty well known, to do the same thing?
MAybe he could fight Brock Lesnar for his first fight...
