Affliction vs EliteXC

Why is everyone hating on the Affliction card when the entire nation was just exposed to the armpit of MMA by EliteXC.  The affliction card was full of legit fighters and matchups, and the best fight on the Elite card was the two chicks, or the Lawler Smith fight at a distant 2nd where the two fighters gassed about a minute into each rounsd.

For my money, the affliction card was a hundred times better than the EliteXC card, and Kimbo Slice is a joke.

I dont think people hate so much on the affliction card and neither can i recall people praising the elitexc cards.

I personally think that was one of the most important cards I have ever seen.  And not many cards have four top tier HW fighters.

Neither has enough good fighters yet. Fedor will sell ppv's, but they can't put him on every card. Also, I am not even sure he is a bigger draw to the casual fan than say Liddell tbh.

You are concerned about who is a bigger draw to the casual fan?  I could care less.
Of course Chuck is a bigger draw...he has had years of build up in the UFC in the U.S.

He was a PRIDE fighter before he became the UFC LH champ.  It didn't take him long to become popular and I would be willing to bet that if Fedor was in the UFC he would become quite popular with the "casual fan" quite quickly when he steamrolls the division.

Slight correction here Liddell was never what you would consider a Pride fighter he went to one Grand Prix tournament and fought 3 times Metzger, Overeem and Rampage. He has pretty fought his whole career in the UFC...

You are correct, but my point is that it would take Fedor all of one fight to build a following in the UFC, not counting all the fans that already know who he is and would kill to see him fight there.  And after cleaning out the division he would have a very legitimate army of fans.

Anderson Silva generated huge interest after only his first fight against Leben, and was a bonafide superstar after the win over Franklin, and he was about as unknown as you can get with today's fanbase.  Now he is the poster boy of the federation.

How long do you think it would take Fedor, who is already pretty well known, to do the same thing?

MAybe he could fight Brock Lesnar for his first fight...

I think you are 100% correct all it would take would be to watch one of Fedors fights and it makes you a fan of his.
