Nutritional tip of the day
« on: July 25, 2008, 10:45:01 PM »
During the course of the night, protein synthesis can drop by up to 30%. So if you wake up to pee, it's definitely a good idea to pop some BCAA. Leucine, found in BCAA, is a key regulator of protein synthesis and will help attenuate the decrease in protein synthesis that occurs due to fasting over night.

Great tip.  I've also used just straight Leucine powder mixed in a Casein shake to bury the taste.  A company up here in Canada called Maxx Essentials sells the stuff, good price.

Thanks for the tip :)

Do you reccomend BCAA pre-A.M cardio? Others say it spikes insulin levels.

i go back and forth between using before or after workouts, if you take it before i've noticed a TREMENDOUS increase in energy and strength during workouts.
