question of calories
« on: September 06, 2008, 07:50:55 PM »
hey guys-for my bulk this time i am eating high protein, moderate carbs and high good fat

i was thinking...on a training day to eat high protein, mod carbs and mod-high good fats-just enough carbs to fuel my workouts-like close to 200g carbs
and then on an off day eat low carb but raise the good fats so my cals are equal to my training day
what do u think?

It depends on how well you handle carbohydrates. A diet higher in carbohydrates is much better for protein synthesis than a diet higher in fat. I would advise you to get in as high a % of your daily caloric intake from carbohydrates as you feel comfortable. Just make sure you get some red meat and maybe one or two egg yolks in there as well (For hormone synthesis). Protein should be at 1 gram per pound of bodyweight at a minimum, better yet 2 grams per pound of bodyweight.
