BJ Penn vs. George St. Pierre Set For Superbowl Card
« on: August 25, 2008, 07:29:09 AM »
According to UFC  President Dana White, the highly anticipated welterweight championship matchup between welterweight champion Georges St. Pierre and lightweight champion B.J. Penn will take place on January 31, 2009 and is set to be held in Las Vegas.

White also revealed that Wanderlei Silva, who had been rumored to be taking part in the UFC's annual New Years Eve card, will more than likely be fighting on another card.

"I really don't know for sure now," White told Kevin Iole. "But I'm thinking he's not going to be on that at this point."

White appeared extremely excited about the UFC's prospects of putting together big fights for this years remaining fight cards and believes that they'll get the rest of their fights scheduled on Monday.

"We have nothing but big fights left for the rest of the year, but this is so crazy because there are so many of them," said White. "We're going to have a retreat on Monday to figure this all out."

GSP is up against the wall here. If BJ loses he's still the lightweight champ. GSP has everything to lose.  I think GSP's cardio and wrestling will eventually grind out a decision win.  BJ's cardio is still suspect as the fight goes beyond 2-3rd round

I take nothing away from BJ, but he is going to lose this fight.
