Barack Obama's Economic Plan Spells "Economic Disaster"
On Tuesday, the second day of the Democratic National Convention, Democrats met under the banner of "Renewing America's Promise." While much will be said about Barack Obama's economic plans, little will be said about his agenda for higher taxes, more spending, government-run health care and economic isolationism which will only result in economic disaster. The last thing we need to do in these tough economic times are raise taxes on Amer icans who are already hurting.
During his three years in the U.S. Senate, Barack Obama has voted against tax cuts and for tax increases 94 times. As a presidential candidate, Senator Obama has proposed higher income taxes, capital gains taxes, dividends taxes, and Social Security taxes.
John McCain has a sensible plan to restore confidence in the American economy and renew the potential for all Americans to live the American dream. John McCain has a comprehensive "All of the Above" energy plan that will provide America with energy independence and reduce energy bills for all Americans. John McCain will ensure that American workers displaced by a changing economy can hold on to the health care and retirement benefits they have chosen. He will make sure that these displaced workers get the training they need to find a new job or pursue a new career path.
John McCain will not turn to higher taxes in these times of economic difficulty. Instead, he will cut taxes for the middle class and small business owners. If America is to get back on the right track, we need to encourage growth and innovation, not stifle them with higher taxes.
