Americans getting screwed AGAIN by their government!

US Energy department authorizing the sale of natural gas to Japan. 

At the same time the Republicans are clamoring about expanding offshore drilling for oil and natural gas, the US Department of Energy is allowing the sale of billions of cubic feet (98.1 billion to be exact) of natural gas to the Japanese...while not allowing the same energy companies to sell it domestically, which would bring prices down.

I'm all for free market, and this is the exact OPPOSITE of free market. Instead of allowing competition between energy companies, the government is artificially raising energy prices here at home by allowing energy sales overseas (for higher profits) and not here at home.

I'm sure we all know that if that 98.1 billion feet of gas (just a small amount, which was authorized in the most recent order) was put on the true market and not funneled to Japan energy prices would drop. So why is the US government doing this?

i guess bush is trying to undermine the energy performance of the next admin, so his oil innefficiency is judged less harshly by history, and in the 2012 race.  If Obama drops gas prices by $2 in less than a year by using natural gas, NOBODY will vote repub in 2012.

These people do not give one shit about how history judges them.  They are opportunistic, expatriates that gouge the government and the american taxpayer for personal gain.

The S&L crisis, Iran/Contra, the Iraq disaster, the Housing Collapse....these people do not care what anyone thinks as long as they get what they want.

Guys like Karl Rove fix the image and demonize anyone questioning the subterfuge so that the ongoing rape of our government/national resources continues unabated...Bush was elected twice.

Obama is laughing about it on letterman, NBC reports.  So that's a good sign. I Pictured a sorry, pathetic, moping John Kerry apologizing with a long face, looking likea  whiny bitch.

Part of me thinks maybe he intended to do it.  Remember scratching his face with a middle finger talking abot Hilary? 

Perhaps this was a nice send-off for Palin.  Instead of sending her home with the gloss of a perfect run, the last impression we have of her, before she returns to Alaska to hide for 3 weeks, save one controlled interview, is "I'm deeply offended and I'm not as tough as you thought"
