actually if a chick has always been poor, i'd say the more likely she is to settle down with a poor guy
no chick that got a BMW for her 16th birthday will settle for a guy that has less money than daddy
and yeah plenty of women are educated, have good jobs, and make good money on their own
most of those same women want a guy that is her equal, ever notice how famous women only date famous men?

Sure. Women who make their own money are going to be careful not to pick a man who is going to be a financial burden. Same thing we keep griping about. Lots of women make more money than I do and I'm not on the bones of my ass, so to say that ALL women are interested ONLY in money is off target. If you get a woman who is that way, dump her unless you're into living with a prostitute. Once someone is living comfortably, concerns other than money come to the fore.
Financially responsible women are different from princesses who come from money and are just looking for a surrogate daddy (watch out for non-money motivated daddy seekers as well
). As for the poor ones, maybe, maybe not. I'd say golddiggery is going to be more pervasive with people who are always in financial strife. Maybe most of them marry poor because there simply aren't enough rich guys to go around? Also, I'm sure not all poor women are shallow wallet grabbers.
