NFL rules question
« on: November 16, 2008, 02:06:04 PM »

A team is on its 2-yard line.

After the snap, the QB drops back into his endzone.

He is hit by a defender and fumbles the ball.

An offensive lineman picks up the ball and throws it directly at a receiver, but the receiver is unable to make the catch.

What's the call?

LOL @ Swede calling us out!!

So true, man.  As quickly as some of these NFL refs blow the whistle, you'd think they were trained by EliteXC.   ;)

Incomplete pass. There is no rule as to who can and cannot throw a forward pass.

Too bad rugby isn't mainstream here. I'd watch football if it wasn't so boring.

Jason

Probably so.

illegal forward pass

Given that various other players occasionally throw forward passes, i doubt this would be problematic.

wrong.

Without convincing elaboration you're firing blanks. Why would it be illegal when RBs and WRs sometimes through the ball. Next

Obviously the quarterback didn't do enough coke before he got out on the field!

given the same play....expose it to a 3 different ref crews.....they would give a 3 different calls IMO.

either way....its better than getting a saftey on the play
