world champion in Kyokushinkai -70 kg I think

he is much heavier now ...


Funny thing : we grew up in the same gym from 15 till 18-19 ..

I haven't seen him in many many years ... imagine my surprize when he answers my post on get big !!

1990

    * First step in a karate kyokushin dojo, in my birth-town, Galati. First trainer: senpai Lucian Ungureanu, 5th kyu at the time. He was a trainer leaned on the spiritual aspect of the kyokushin; he teched me the respect in Martial Arts. Thanks to him I learned and appreciate kata and kihon
    * First participation in a National Tournement.

1991

    * First title in a competition: Champion in The Romanian Junior Championsips Oradea (-70kg 5 gained fights)

1992

    * My first trainer passed on the dojo to one of his oldest students, my second trainer: senpai Sorin Fechet. He is the one that made me discover the world of kumite.

1994

    * Romanian Regional Championships Bucharest (-70kg, 2 gained fights) 3rd
    * 5th Romanian National Championships Sibiu (-70kg, 5 gained fights) Champion
    * First participation in a International Cup: Szolnok Cup, Hungary

1995

    * One-month-training Camp with Nicholas Pettas in Poiana Brasov, Romania. It was my first professional training camp, organized by sensei Dorel Bulearca, someone to whom I ow a lot of my begining progresses in kumite.
    * Romanian Regional Championships Bucharest (-70kg, 2 gained fights) Champion
    * 6th Romanian National Championships Bucharest (-70kg, 4 gained fights) Champion
    * 1st "Apullum" Cup Alba-Iulia, Romania (-70kg, 4 gained fights) Winner
    * First participation in a Europen Championship (-70kg), Bucharest

1996

    * I had my black belt, after an examination under the directive of shihan Loeck Hollander, in Romania

2001

    * 12th Romanian National Championships Bucharest (-70kg, 5 gained fights) Champion
    * 14th European Weight Category Championships, Szentes, Hungarie (-70kg, 2 gained fights)
    * I moved to Bucharest leaving my dojo inr Galati.It was a year entierely dedicated to trainings

2002

    * 13th Romanian National Championships Bucharest (-70kg, 5 gained fights) Champion
    * 3rd "Open Russian" Cup Moscow, Russia (-70kg, 5 gained fights) 4th
    * I came back to Galati, where I continued training in a frien's dojo : senpai Ion Gutanu
    * 16th European Weight Category Championships Varna, Bulgaria (-70kg, 5 gained fights) Champion
    * I had my nidan, after an examination under the directive of sensei Bertrand Kron and sensei Jean Chateau, in France

2003

    * 14th Romanian National Championships Bucharest (-80kg, 3 gained fights) 2nd
    * 17th European Weight Category Championships Uzhgorod, Ukraine (-80kg, 2 gained fights) 3rd
    * I mouved to Paris, France where I met sensei Jean Chateau who wellcome me in his dojo. If it wasn't for him maybe this would have been the end of my fighing carrer in kyokushin

2004

    * 18th European Weight Category Championships Riesa, Germany (-80kg, 4 gained fights) Champion.
      I won also Best Tameshiwari

2005

    * French National Championships Paris (-80kg, 3 gained fights) Champion
    * One month training camp in Bucharest, Romania
    * 3rd World Weight Category Championships Tokyo, Japan (-70kg, 4 gained fights) Champion
    * 19th European Weight Category Championships Varna, Bulgaria (-80kg, 4 gained fights) Champion
    * I had my 3rd dan, after an examination under the directive of kancho Matsui en Bulgarie

He is a world class fighter and I bumped into him here accidentally afetr 12 years ... we grew up toghether

he posts here for christ sake .. click on the links to those threads ...

He saw a pic from when we were kids that I posted.

I THOUGHT  that getbig mma board would cherrish having an acual fighter post here ...
