http://www.powerliftingwatch.com/node/9859On November 23, Donnie Thompson rattled the powerlifting world for the second time this year by again pushing the all-time total record to new heights. Now, Thompson is doing something even more shocking... stepping away from the sport he's on top of. Thompson has confirmed that he will no longer compete in powerlifting following the historic total he achieved two weeks ago at the IPA Senior Nationals in York, Pennsylvania.
Here's some of what Thompson leaves behind:
. Highest total of all-time (2,905)
. 2nd highest squat of all-time (1,235)
. Highest full meet bench press of all-time (910)
. 2005 WPO Superheavyweight Champion
Tomorrow, Powerlifting Watch will feature an interview with Thompson in which he talks about the reasons behind his retirement and reflects on his powerlifting career.
interesting.
