True - but - at the same time, people change jobs a LOT more than they used to. This whole headhunting, monster.com generation that is always looking for a resume-building job to move onto the next job... it means companies can't commit as much to employees, knowing they're using company time to surf other job offers.
Loyalty is gone on both sides.
