I can't say I blame this guy for going into pro wrestling over bodybuilding.  At least the oiled up guys he rolled around with in wrestling kept their underwear on.

With a smaller waist he could have done some more damage in Bodybuilding.
Maybe a bit better for his health and purse that he didn't, although he surely suffered one of the worst torn biceps I have ever seen during his strongman career.

One of my favorites, Gary Taylor, great strongman.

I remember his Quads having exactly the same shape when he was a Junior. He had some major Knee injuries around this time also.

that's what I read. He "shattered" his knees doing heavy ass backsquats when he was young.

Why do you say that?  He looked great and spoke perfect English; not speaking English is usually the handicap.  The truth is he didn't market himself well (few BB do) and was eclipsed by strong competition.  It's too bad... I rather liked the guy and would have liked to see more of him. :-[

I remember a shoulder training segment he did on Muscle Magazine.  Anyone else remember that? ???

Whatever happened to him, whats he doing now?

He was a personal trainer at a gym in Riverview Fl (right outside of Tampa) for a while then left/got fired whatever. I used to watch him train,,,,very unorthodox methods but yes he was big.

Very deep scary voice as well!

THIS IT?

Ian Harrison, 1995 San Jose Pro Invitational, Third Place
CYCLED TRICEPS WORKOUTS
My best triceps results come from a heavy/medium/light rotation from workout to workout. Each workout is based upon a 15-set total, composed of three different movements of five sets each.

My heavy-day exercises are close-grip bench presses, cable pushdowns and seated behind-the-neck dumbbell extensions. Reps are six to eight per set.

For my next triceps workout, medium day, it's reverse-grip bench presses, reverse-grip one-arm cable pushdowns, then weighted dips; all for 10- to 12-rep sets.

My next triceps workout is light. Here, I do reverse-grip pushdowns, close-grip benches, then dumbbell kickbacks. These are for 15-rep sets.

Another HUGE guy who became a wrestler was Achim Albrecht.
