When 50% of our population directly benefits from social welfare of one form or the next, be it seniors, welfare cases, disability cases, poor people on food stamps, etc etc, then we are destined to failure.

There is no way we are going to survive when you have more people on the government dole than are working.

Yes and the military is different how?  They are on the "Government dole" but oh wait..........they are supposedly necessary to protect us from those big bad terrorists.  Afterall our nuclear weapons and missile defense systems are no match for their AK 47's and RPG's right?  I mean we are off fighting those evil terrorists while our borders are wide open.

The military is in the constitution to provide a national defense.  That is one of the obligations of govt.  Providing SS, food stamps, wic checks, Section 8 rent, subsidized heating oil, ESL classes, etc is not.
