Bring back calves in 2009 to the IFBB
« on: December 24, 2008, 05:06:52 AM »
How can you award the sandow trophy to someone who doesn't have great or even good calf development?  No disrespect to Dexter, but whatever happened to judging the body in whole and not just from the knees up?  I mean guys get torn apart for not having striated glutes.  What about the fact that they have no development in the lower leg area.  I feel in 2009 the IFBB should change their judging criteria to include the whole body and not just the knees up!

46 POSTS AND HE'S ALREADY PROVEN STUPID...

Let's all say this together. CALVES can NOT be improved upon no matter how many raises are done...same goes for forearms. That being let these threads with the same headings DIE TONIGHT WITH THE ARRIVAL OF SATAN...oops I MEAN SANTA.

This board is always trying to keep the brother's down. It is the evil white man that bred the calf gene out of my people so that it would be harder to run away to freedom and take your white women.

Racist.

NOTHING RACIST AT ALL...MORE LIKE JUST STUPID..wnybodybuildingf an just needs to accept certain things about the human body regardless of training, experience genetic race, makeup yadda yadda...There are some things one just can not improve upon. If calves could be developed they would be. Anyone having big calves: Vince taylor, Flex, Shawn Ray, Chris Cormier, Dillet etc etc (and for the white folk)..DOrian yates, Jay boring Cutler etc etc didn't do a DAMN thing toward their development or size...their calves have always been big...forearms as well.

Maybe those smaller calves by Blacks is the reason they dominate, track and field, football, basketball, baseball, etc etc....larger calves certainly are NOT helping those whites fortunate enough to have them...lol

By the way what's up with Wolfs calves

I am Stupid!  I guess I have finally made it to getbig because I have been personally been insulted by SAMSON123.  I am now in good company with the hundreds of others he has called idiot, stupid, and other things.  This is discussion board and I know you have to be thick skinned.  Nothing personal taken from it but I don't know you personally and you don't know me either.  We are all entitled to our opinions and that is why boards are fun.  Don't always need personal attacks to get points across.

This was more about IFBB judges adding this to the criteria for next year.  The pro's all along have known that judges turn their back on calves.  I feel if they made it more of a point, the athletes would train them with more intensity.  Why waste time on a bodypart that isn't being critiqued by the judges.  It is called bodybuilding and yes genetics play a large part but that is the same for size or arms, legs, back, etc.  I just feel should be complete package is all.  I also thought might be more entertaining than all the Dorian vs Ronnie threads.  A change of pace if you will.  I am new so if this thread has been overused I apologize.

Kidding aside, you make a good point and I agree with you. Just because someone can't or is genetically unable to develop good calves doesn't mean they should get a pass. This doesn't apply to other body parts. Kamali will never have good arms, a genetic flaw, and no matter how conditioned he would come in he will never will the O.

Having a genetic predisposition to have or not have calves is irrelevant. It's what you actually bring to the table, regardless, that matters. Guess what? I have a genetic predisposition to not being able to develop great calves, AND a great chest, lats, arms, quads...everything! Hence, I'm not an Olympian and never will be.

Life's unfair.
