  Disregarding the comment about how Swede looks, this is unfortunately somewhat true.  Alcoholism in the US is not considered alcoholism in northern Europe.  We don't have the drug issues to the same extent, but drinking is out of control.  I just read in the paper that Alcohol is actually the LEADING cause of death in Finland.  That's outrageous.
