Supplement companies and their recommended dosage!
« on: January 06, 2009, 01:19:24 PM »
everytime i see a company put a lot of stuff into the same bottle the amount of each ingredient is far less than it is in the same companies individual bottles for that ingredient.

say for example a product, among other ingredients, have ginkgo biloba it would be 20mg per day. where as if they put ginkgo biloba alone in a separate bottle a daily dose would be 800mg.

so whats the point in putting 20mg along with 20 other ingredients as part of a daily-something-supplement when they recommend 40 times that amount otherwise ?

first you think "oh good, all these ingredients in just 2 pills per day" then you break it down it doesnt seem that anyone of them will do...  >:(

oh, well thats exactly what i mean, the effective does is not always the recommended dose by the supplement company. green tea extract is effective around a gram per day of egcg. however, most green tea pills you find come no where near that, in fact alot have not even 1/10th that amount. some arent even standardized for egcg, yet on the bottle they will "recommend " a pill or two per day.

alot of things are like this.

yeah

and im getting tired of reading labels they should get their shit together

some supplements might not work or might not work as good as people might hope for but they can at least get the proper dose together or there's no way of knowing
