I am a dog lover so don't get me wrong, but it's a shame that people have exploited these breads and completely fucked them up. I used to know a lot of growers who bred these types of dogs to guard their guerrilla grow ops up in BC. My uncle bred dogs like this and they wouldn't harm a fly. He had two poodles and nearly 30 pitbulls and rotties, the fucking POODLE attacked me and nearly ripped out my fucking eye (still have a big scar). I was about 4 years old... the other dogs remained perfectly calm and never hurt a soul for the remainder of their lives.

i have never heard of a papillon killing children or regularly making news about this.

There is a reason dogs are banned and some breeds...the experts who know about them make the decisions and advise on laws.

They should be banned IMO maybe keep them in a zoo so they dont get extinct

Actually, in places where they have banned pits or other large breed dogs, dog related deaths have not gone down, they have remained the same and it has led to the reversal of some bans (like in the netherlands i believe).  The owners are the responsible parties, not the dogs.

If you support banning Pit Bulls without any evidence that they're naturally more violent than you should support a ban on all dogs.

I'm not saying outright ban, but if people can't be responsible with their pets then the you know what my answer is.

You don't need to ban the animals, you need to ban the owners.  A lot of the people who get dogs like these in the UK, do so because they want to have a tough looking dog, so that they look tough themselves.  It's just another thing on the list to be a 'hardman':-

1. Shaved head.
2. Late 90's BMW with rims.
3. Designer tracksuit.
4. Chavvy gold bling.
5. Pitbull or similar.

I drive a BMW, but it's a 2007 and it's not a 3 series.  I am a professional, and I wear a suit and tie everyday to work.  I have a owned all kinds of dogs.  I have an American bull and my fiance has a basset hound.  Lot's of ignorance in this thread.....it's not even worth the argument.

i had to do the suit to work everyday for a while a few years back when I did sales, god i hated that.

I don't mind....I'm not in sales, but I do work with a sales team sometimes.  I love animals, and I don't care if it's a pitbull or a poodle.  I'm not a guido and I'm not a cage fighter.  I love the people who give my dog looks....meanwhile, their dog is going crazy and nipping at people.  My dog is the most mild mannered animal around.  My nephew hangs out with my dog all the time; my dog loves him.
