What kind of car?
« on: January 21, 2009, 07:43:35 PM »
For my next car should I get a Nissan 350 Z, Dodge Challenger, BMW 3 series, Saab 9-3, Civic Si, Pontiac G8, Cadillac CTS, or Acura TL Type-S? It will be something used...probably about 3 years (unless I go for the Challenger).

For sheer driving enjoyment get the BMW 3 series... but get it with a (extended) warranty if you can.  Once the warranty goes it can be very expensive to maintain.

Mine is a fossil and I still enjoy driving it.  I may get a new car this year... but I plan on keeping my BMW; I love it that much! :D

I never agree with you......UNTIL NOW.  I love the 3 series.  I love BMW's and I will own them for the rest of my life.  My next ride has to be the M5.

From what year? I do not like the styling (exterior or interior) of the current 5 and would not own one.  I don't like the X3 either. >:(

Is an M3 much more expensive to maintain than a standard 3-series?

No, but if one is buying a new M3 does money matter?  I would not buy a new M3 (nor a used one).  I know others will disagree, but I would rather have a standard 3 with a DINAN upgrade and pocket the difference.

Actually, given how often I really push my 3 these days, I would just get the standard 3.  I'm a lead foot and in my daily driving I don't push the car enough to warrant a DINAN upgrade.  I still love my 3 though.  :P

The 3 series have always been a great car for a person who likes a good handling car.

My dad just bought a new 335i Coupe. That's the one with the twin turbo six. Kinda like a M3-lite... :D
No doubt about it...

2000.  As someone observed above, I have M wheels, but that is the only upgrade.

When I bought this car I was commuting the 50 miles to Silicon Valley three days a week and that is when I would open it up, often racing with other commuters for 20-30 miles at a time(on I 280).  It's a wonder I was never pulled over and carted off to jail; I used a Bel radar detector back then and highly recommend them.

My top speed in this car is 138mph.  8)

The new 3 series is funny. Like i said above, my Dad just bought a 335i coupe which i thinks looks really nice, but at saying that i don't like the sedan version.

The coupe seems to have nicer lines and looks classy and sporty in a subtle way, whilst the sedan just looks boring and a bit plain...
No doubt about it...
